Comprehensive upgrade

Project Introduction

The Qingdao Wan He Chun project is located in Qingdao, China. Wan He Chun, a household name in the city, carries 85 years of culinary heritage and urban memories.

As this time-honored brand transitioned from street-side shops to upscale shopping malls, Liu Ke Design Office was commissioned to craft a completely new brand image and spatial experience.  We delved deep into Wan He Chun’s brand DNA, extracting three core elements: “85-Year Legacy,” “The Rib Rice Expert,” and “The Taste of Qingdao.” This informed the design of a brand symbol that harmonizes traditional charm with modern aesthetics. Tailored for the mall environment and younger demographics, we overhauled the visual communication system, shifting the focus from mere food display to compelling brand storytelling.

Within the confines of the mall space, we created a dining environment that balances efficiency and experience through scientific circulation planning and immersive scene design. In an increasingly competitive restaurant market, brand image and spatial experience have become core differentiators. While time-honored brands possess quality and tradition, they often lack effective ways to communicate with contemporary consumers. Good design bridges this gap, facilitating a dialogue between tradition and modernity—making quality visible and value perceptible.

Redefining the Spatial Experience Within the limited footprint of a mall storefront, we have created a dining space that balances efficiency and experience through scientifically planned circulation and immersive settings.

We have upgraded the in-store poster designs. To better engage the mall environment and younger demographics, we revamped the entire visual communication system, shifting the focus from traditional dish displays to brand storytelling.
